  1. My husband Art and I have lived on an acreage for the past 40 years and have no real desire to move. However, realistically, we are aware that we cannot stay here forever. We have both had health challenges during the past 10 years, although we are presently doing quite well. We are considering several possibilities, such as a town home, a retirement center and a smaller home in a town. But our present home is a ranch, with everything we need (we built it to suit our needs in 1979.) and we haven’t seen anything that would be any better for us. In fact, several places don’t have the things we really want, such as attached garage, multiple bathrooms, walk-in showers. we agree with you, that Iowa is a good place to be retired – we have no desire to move to another climate or even another city or state.
